How we Started PINE Window Cleaning

To tell the story of Pine Window Cleaning, I must tell the story of a young, stubborn, and difficult boy named Chet. Chet grew up in a house filled with women. This included three fiercely loyal sisters who would kill for their family (or for someone taking a garment from their closet), two beautiful lady black labradors that were equal parts loving and harry, and one stern but elegant mother that wouldn’t let anything in the world break her family apart. Despite many differences, the women in Chet’s family unanimously cared for one thing; the cleanliness of their home. To them, taking care of what you had mattered. The house was more than just a place to sleep. It was where the family gathered, where memories were made, and where everyone felt safe. From a young age, he learned that maintaining a home wasn’t just about appearances, it was about respecting the place that your family lives.

And then there was Chet’s father. He was the most charismatic and charming guy in any room that he stepped into. Despite being naturally magnetic, his father came from nothing, being raised by two immigrant parents who moved to the country when he was only 6 years old. As he grew up, he used his natural ability to make people feel heard alongside his fiery work ethic to create opportunities for himself to succeed. With his unwavering mental fortitude, his moral strength, and the support of his loving wife, Chet’s father eventually forged a life for his family that most people could only dream of. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just honest work and doing the right thing when nobody was watching. From as far back as he could remember, Chet’s father had always been his hero. Because of the path that his father’s life took, Chet became strictly opposed to relying on his fortunate situation for handouts. He wanted to forge his own path. He believed that if everything was done for him, he wouldn’t be able to learn the life lessons necessary for him to reach his true potential. He wanted to live in the real world and experience the responsibility, the pressure, and the growth that comes from earning something yourself the same way that his dad did. So instead of accepting a weekly allowance, Chet started knocking on doors. In the blistering summer Texas heat, the 16 year old vehicle-less Chet would bike to nearby neighborhoods, march from house to house, and offer his hard labor in the form of window cleaning. If someone said yes, he didn’t just sell the job, he would clean every inch of glass by himself. With a squeegee in his left hand and a microfiber towel in his right, he grinded through every day of his sophomore summer, slowly mastering every aspect of the trade. Every window taught him something new. With that, Pine Window Cleaning was born. But the business was never just about cleaning glass. It was about the values he grew up with. From his mother and sisters, he understood that the care a home is treated with means so much more than just its outside appearance. From his father, he learned that success in business comes from helping someone find a solution for a problem, and then following through on your word until the problem is eradicated. No cutting corners, just hard work, honesty, and consistency. As the business grew, he began sharing those same values with the people who joined the team. Every person who worked with Pine Window Cleaning learned the same philosophy: communicate honestly with customers, take pride in your work, and clean every home as if it belonged to your own family. What started as a gritty one-man operation run by a junior in high school eventually grew into a company of more than twenty people, serving hundreds of customers across multiple cities. But through all that growth, one thing has never changed.

Your sisters are dancing around the tree, more exited to see the reaction that their secret santa recipient has to their present than they are to open their own gifts. You close your eyes, and take a deep and slow inhale through your nose. All the love and warmth you feel in that moment is somehow perfectly summarized by this aroma that is flowing through your nostrils and lighting up that perfect spot of your brain that can only be touched on this day, with these people, by this scent; the fresh smell of Pine.
